Welcome

About
The "I can’t hear you" blog is intended to provide a site where information that I believe is relevant to the deaf can be accessed and discussed. Additionally, the Blog servers as a linked "full article" site for my Twitter account.
Generally, but not exclusively, the content will be applicable to moderately to severely/profoundly deaf people. Broadly, the content will include topical news items, issues affecting the deaf, assistive devices (AD) and information-communication technologies (ICT).
Medical and Audiological Assessment Excluded
At the outset, it must be stressed that nothing contained in this blog is intended to replace medical and audiological assessment for deafness. For this reason, articles/comments about the applicability of hearing aids or cochlear implants are not included. However, some of the features, accessories, and adaptability that hearing aids and implants have may fall within the nominated discussion criteria.
Deaf People Opinions are Important
While medical and audiologists have their role, many deaf people have invaluable experience in using AD and ICT to improve their hearing in specific situations. Deaf people face challenging situations and often adopt their own effective ways to help them hear; their opinion on what will work and what won’t is important.
How the site works
The site uses the Postach blogging application which works in tandem with Evernote. The great advantage for me in using the Postach/Evernote combination is its simplicity. However, like all web sites, it has its own distinct features and to find how it works go to the Help article.
